jumuah mubrak

Asalaamu alikum wa ragumatullah hi wa barakatu ...

All Praise and Glory is to Allah swt ( GOD Almighty)... Most Beneficent, Most Merciful.
in Him do we place our trust and in Him aLone do we seek refuge...

We thank Him for this Beautiful Friday... youmul Jumuah...
and may He guide and Protect us all...

I trust all is well?

the night the mountain burned.

i am sure just as many of us were left in awe as we were saddenned by the Fire that ramapaged across Devils peak this past week ... in an awesome display of fire pyro technics the fire swept accross our beuatiful mountain and lit up the evening sky ... and  from a distace the dark evening was bathed in a warm orange glow.

just the other morning on me way to work... our was confronted with the very same mountain ... the very same scene ... yet it was different...

AS i crawled my way up along Kromboom bridge... the Trafic had come to a grinding halt... 5min on the same spot and i started to question my choice of route ... cars seemed to be coming from every direction ... BIG cars... Small cars... all the cars ... one gaol ... trying to force their way into the same littel space...  hooters sounding from every direction ...  and drivers looking straight.. as if the refusal to make eye contact was going to make a difference for them blocking the intesection... the situation was becoming critical and to top it off my damn radio wasnt working... i was about to jump out of the car...  but then it happenned.

as i sat teetering close to the brink of self implosion... the fire raged ... burning within and whispers of not so pleasant thoughts engulfed my mind... and my nafs... i imagined myself to  about to jump out of the car  and well then it happened... before me eyes... a moment chosen for me... written ... for me... a moment of realisation and encouragement ... one to inspire and to make belief strong...

my moment...

yet everybody was at liberty to partake..." Allah hu Akbar!" i thought .... "WOW" i excliamed....

take a moment and Picture this... our beautiful mountain ... DEvil's Peak/ Table mountain from the Kromboom view... imprinted on a clear blue background and the moon gently sitting besides it ...floating... waiting... but for what?

so i am nearing the apex of Kromboom Bridge ... when this picture greets me ... beautiful? right? indeed. but wait theres more ...

NOw picture this ... seeing that i was in traffic ... i was forced to consult my side view mirrors... an then it happend ... reflecting in the distant helderberg mountains... the Sun was awaking from its slumber... gently ... it began to rise to prominence . As it rose...  the mountain bathed itself in a awesome orange glow... slowly ... as the sun revealed itself... then moon began to  fade...

but in an amazing sequence of events ... as i reached the apex of the bridge... the moon and the sun stood still...  if only for a minute... as if they were smiling at each other...  [ at me ] floating... " WOW "  and then the real essence of this story revealed itself...

[ flash back to 1hour ealier] ... i found myslef at the masjid... and i read this verse ... " It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in orbit." [ surah yaseen: 40] ... ibn kathir says this of the ayah ...  that there is no gap between night and day; each of them follows the other with no interval, because they have been subjugated and are both constantly pursuing one another.

WOW! .. beuatiful ... i cannot even begin to tell you what i felt... the Quraan ... jumping out at me and revealing itself in a manner and form i could not have imagined... This is the beauty  of the quraan ... it has the ability to transcend centuries and be as real today as it was when it was revealed some 1400 years ago... I felt encouraged and inspired ... and my imaan (faith) jumped a notch... i could feel it ooze into every corner of my body... i felt goosebumps... yeah itell you... goose bumps...

i dont think that morning would have had such a great effect on me had i not read the english translation of the Quraan ... if i hadnt understood its meaning i doubt i would of remembered that ayat ... on that bridge ...  on that morning and at that time . if i hadnt taken the effort to read the translation or attempt to understand what it is that i recite... then i doubt it would of had the effect that it did.

And i suppose that sunrise would of been...  just like any another.

So my brothers... sisters... if you havent already... then i urge you to try an gain a greater understanding of the Quraan... arabic... whether it be just by picking up the quraan and reading it quietly to youself... or attend classes... and learn from those who know.

Do this... and i assure you that life becomes simple...
after all...
the Quraan was sent as a guide to all of mankind.
" IQRAA, ... in the name of your Lord"

Xbox: A classroom full of first year Veterinary students were participating in their first day of anatomy class. For the lecture, the professor begins by unveiling a dead cow under a white sheet laying on an operating table.

The professor tells the class "In Veterinary Medicine there are two qualities you must possess as a doctor - the first of which is a strong stomach. You cannot, under any circumstance, be disgusted by anything involving an animal's body."

For example, the Professor pulls back the sheet and sticks his finger right up the dead cow's butt, pulls out his finger and sticks it in his mouth. The students just standthere, paralyzed at what they see. "Now, go ahead and do the same thing, each of you," the professor says.

Freaked out, the students take several minutes but eventually take turns sticking their fingers up into the anal cavity of the dead cow, and then sucking on them. Once everyone is finished, the Professor continues on with his lesson… "Now, the second important quality you must possess is a keen observation. You see, I stuck in my middle finger up the cow's butt, and I sucked on my index finger… Now, learn to pay attention."
