JUMUAH MUBARAK!!!

this email is available in high defiinition colour as per the
attachment hereto... :-)

Asalaaamu alikum wa rag matullah hi wa barakatu...

Peace and Blessings upon us all ...

I trust all is well and that everybody had a great day of EID.
THE EID of SACRIFICE has just whizzed by and the hujaaj are slowly
making their way back form the holy lands …

LABIAK ALLAH HUMAAM LABAIK...

The anthem of all anthems... the hujaaj invokes the anthem with
passion second to none in order to connect with their LORD.

whilst we at home... we TAKBEER
Allah hu akbar... allah hu akbar ... Allah hu akbar...
for the same reason as the hujaaj ... to get closer to Allah swt.

[NOVEMBER 17TH 2010 @ +- 07H15]

And it was that particular Wednesday morning ... whilst waiting for
the EID salaah to commence that my mind began to wonder... and with
the TAKBEER Echoeing in the background ... i had a thought…

My profession allows me the unenviable task of being privvy to some
dark secrets which some people usually keep to themselves... not that
I represent sinister people but some people make mistakes. In fact all
of us are prone to the odd indiscretion…. the consequences which they/
we have to carry with them/ us for the rest of their/ our earthly
lives… not because they want to… rather because society is the way it
is … and thus they wouldn't necessary like others to know about.

I saw one of my clients EID morning, one with a dark secret… He made a
quiet entrance into the masjid and if the ray of sun hadn't kissed
between the eys then I may not have even noticed his arrival… On the
outside he comes across as a quiet unsurpassed man… to the naked
eye... he was normal as normal could be but underneath lurks a great
secret. He was dressed in his favourite casual khaki's and with his
shirt neatly ironed... he entered... found a place close to the
front... and read his two sunnah salaahs .

Allah hu akbar!!!

I thought ... yor!!... for all that he has done no one in the world...
except me [AND ALLAH swt] ... knows the dark secrets which lay beyond
the fragile exterior of this aged gentleman... yet there he stood...
upstanding community man... he could pass for a gentleman... a
humanitarian of some sort... and then in a split second as if the
takbeer had penetrated my skin and began reverberating within my
veins... i realised... that i cannot look at that man with bedevilled
eyes... AGSTAGFIRULLAH!!!
Who the hell was I to do so... i may be a lawyer but i ain't got no
right to judge... [Funny ney?]

ALLahu akbar!!!

For all i know those two rakaah of sunnah could have been done with
such humility and sincerity that Allah swt... could have accepted his
Taubah
[Repentance] ... and Forgiven him in spite of his dark secrets...

[FLASHBACK, NOVEMBER 15TH 2010, +- 04H45]

Earlier that week I was reading quraan and came across a footnoted
hadith found in Bukhuri collection vol 4 ... about the prostitute who
took off her shoe and out of sincerity fed the thirsty dog water...
And Allah swt forgave her/ entered her into jannah...

Allah hu Akbar!!!

it just goes to show that Allah swt's MERCY knows no bounds... it is
not reserved for whites... blacks … arabs or non arabs... it is
certainly for all of mankind who believe in the concept of Tauheed (
oneness of GOD) and who ascribe no partners to THE ALMIGHTY GOD...

LAA ILLah ha illal lah...

[ present day, 11h00 26:11:10]

And that brings me to my next point… what is the purpose of this EID…
what is the purpose of HAJJ. I ask this because as much as the day is
about celebrating… and performing rituals… have we ever pondered about
the why we do what we do.

Normally the day is spent like this… We get up. Go to masjid. Perform
EId salaah. Slaughter the animals./ visit the graveyards. Greet
people. Have lunch with family. Greet more people. Have cake and tea.
Greet some more people. Have supper. Visit more people. SLEEP.

Yes the paragraph above may seem like an oversimplified generalised
version of EID… and for that I seek forgiveness if I offended anyone…

In my humble opinion the essence of the journey of HAJJ:

1. is about Connecting to Allah swt [GOD] or re- connecting ... and
developing our belief in the concept of TUAHEED: so when we recite
those verse which say ALLAH MOST HIGH and Most Merciful Most
Compassionate…. Then we have to understand what is meant by it… think…
ponder …

2. Improving yourself ...your personality ... behaviour ... becoming
better people... brothers... Children... neighbours... spouses...
family:

This past EID I spent my time in the company of my wifes family … the
so call extended in laws … and I really enjoyed my time their… it was
the first EID after the DEATH of their grand father [ may Allah swt
give him a HIGH PLACE in Jannah] … but for me not knowing the
grandfather … I cannot really comprehend what they were feeling… and
even though I am not one for big functions … I must say looking back I
gained a better understanding of the whole connecting with people
aspect of HAJJ/ EID…

And the realisation dawned upon me… those who were not able to go on
hajj in any particular year … have an opportunity each day to
experience a closeness to ALLAH swt… by simply improving yourself… do
good wherever you can and however you can… every moment is an
opportunity 'to go on HAJJ '
And with very exchange of words and smiles and greetings… I felt that
I gained a closeness to the extended in laws … I connected with them…
and by interacting with them… I gained closeness to Allah swt… and by
being kind and respectful to them … I was doing a good deed and
performing another form of worship to Allah swt …

The point is that the so called rituals of EID/ HAJJ … must not become
mere rituals … it has to be elevated to a higher platform… and if we
can do that then we one step closer to improving ourselves… and
drawing closer to Allah swt…

ALLAH HU AKBAR …
(186. And when My servants ask you (O Muhammad concerning Me, then
answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My knowledge). I respond to
the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any
mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so
that they may be led aright. [ tafsir ibn kathir]
THE EID OF SACRIFICE … is about conscientising us… and giving us the
opportunity to refocus our attentions on the PURPOSE OF LIFE…
Worshipping the ALMIGHTY.
And what do I know… and Allah swt knows BEST.
Think. Ponder. Reflect.
Ps: If I have offended anyone/ made a mistake… please forgive me and

jumuah mubrak!!!

PS: if you want to read this email in FULL COLOUR then open the Word

Peace:-)

Asalaamu alikum wa ragmatullah hi wa barakatu...

i trust all is well.

Alhumdulillah we have another Friday and another Jumuah to look forward too.
May Allah swt accept all our efforts, ameen.

So the past month has left me with the realisation of two things:

1. Hashim Amla is truly a gifter cricketer and Ambassodaer for
islam... i would love to meet him someday in the near Futurre...

2. Greeting Hujjaj is quite tiring... and you need to be fit... the
only problem though is that you are bound to pick up weight... all
those pan peanuts and samoosa's ... even the freshly fried Kooksisters
...MMmp ... cant wait to go greet the next one.... lol ;-)

4 WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL
the past month has been busy...
in amongst it all... i managed to attend a three Nikahs ( weddings)
and a Janaza (funeral) ... yes i know that i only went to 3
weddings... but it just doesn't sound the same if you say 3
weddings and funeral!!!

So as i witnessed the Mayat (deceased) lying on the Cartel ( silver
bed thingy) … it hit me … that the similarity between the Ihkraam of
the hajjaaj and that of the deceased is strikingly obvious. If we
think about it... the reason for that is quite simple ... both
persons… are about to journey to their CREATOR!!!

Mind Blowing.
I know...
Hajj is a journey. Death is a journey.
The one may have an impact on the other... and without the other the
one journey may be put into difficulty... I suppose all we really can
do is… TRY. MAKE AN EFFORT.
if we are able to view Hajj as life ... or rather living a righteous
life or at the very least striving to do so sincerely... then we will
realise that the RITUAL OF HAJJ
[ i.e. going on hajj… physically] is merely one mechanism which will
take us to a greater purpose and the spiritual journey is the one
which resides within us all… the one which is easily accessible to
all… so glad tidings to those who want to physically go but have not
managed to as of yet… your HAJJ is right here right now… every time
you are confronted with evil or something which could take you away
from the remembrance of Allah swt… then take a spiritual 'TAWAAF '
away from sinning… throw the stone in the face of deception… and
invoke your LORD standing… sitting or LYING Down.

And the reason we should do it [both the spiritual and physical
journey] ... is that no matter what our plans are… we all will taste
DEATH … and our destination is ultimately to be decided by Allah SWT …
whether or not to admit us to Jannah (paradise). All we can do is live
for Allah swt. Love for Allah swt. and do righteous good deeds... for
the attainment of Allah swt's pleasure... i.e. WORSHIP HIM.

and how do we do so?
... follow the example of the Prophet Muhammed saw and read the
Quraan... but with the idea of knowing what is in the Quraan... so
that we are able to make informed decisions... eg. to go on HAJJ ...
its a pillar of FAITH...without it... we lack one of the fundamentals
of the foundation upon which we can build our relationship with Allah
swt ... Hajj is incumbent upon us all ... if we have the funds then we
have to go ... NO QUESTIONS!!! ... DEATH ... is incumbent upon us all
... we all gona die...

So i ask the question: why not Live to DIE?
an odd concept if you ponder about it... but a reality to those who
BELIEVE ... and HAVE FAITH... and thus we all have to prepare for
DEATH... just to make our journey a little bit more easier.

And to confirm my argument… Allah swt so eloquently says in surah Mulk
[29: 67] Bismillah I ragmaaniragheem ...

" (1. Blessed be He in Whose Hand is the dominion; and He is Able to
do all things.) (2. Who has created death and life that He may test
you which of you is best in deed. And He is the Almighty, the
Oft-Forgiving;)… "

The mufasireen … [those scholars that interpret the meanings of
Quraan] mention that it should be noted that Allah swt did not say
"which of you does the most deeds.'' But rather … BEST IN DEED!!!

But then again what do I know… and Allah swt knows best!!!

PS: if I have said anything wrong or incorrect please forgive me… and
if you have benefited from this little banter then ALLAH is the MOST
KNOWLGEBLE and MERCIFUL.

PS2: HAPPY BDAY TO my most beautiful wife… FIREWORKS and ALL ;-)
PS3: One day … a dyslyxix man walks into a BRA … lol :-) hahah!!!
Xbox: did you know that …. If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9
months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.

jumuah mubarak

Asalaamu alaimkum,

 i trust all is well?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN
YOU GROW UP????

SO THE OTHER DAY  i was overlistening a couple of young children talking to each other... and the one asks the other... " what do you want to be when you grow up?

a F1 driver!!! " exclaims the other child.

im am sure many of us had this conversation when we were younger... and our answers are our own....  a docter... fireman ... lawyer ... etc.

Personally i wanted to be aprofessional footballer ... needless to say i am what i am and i am a product of my own endevour... and effort... nutured and shaped by my immdiate enviroment and moulded by the many experiences of life... and guided by advices from the major players
... no doubt My parents and family and friends have all contributed to the person i am... the values i adhere to ( or hopefully do)... and the choices i made... All forming part of Allah swt's decree.

Non theless...

That conversation got me thinking ... as we fast approach the period of Hajj... many persons are in the process of leaving for the Journey of a life time... HAJJ...

for those first time Hujjaj... in spite of all the hype and preparation... they do not really know what to expect... for some it will be a mixture of tense excitement with a dose of anxiety...
whilst for others a feast of determined focus and spiritual upliftment awaits them...

but the commonality of this journey is the proximity one gets to ALLAH swt ... and the immpression it leaves in your heart...

for those who do not know... HAJJ IS ESSENTIALLY about relationships.
1. the relationship between Nabi Ebrahim ( Abraham, Peace be upon him ) and his son isma-eel ( Isaac, PBUH)
2. realatioship between mother and child
3. between father and son
4. the relationsship netween us and Allah swt., etc

in essence what point 1 -4 tells us is that HAJJ is about everyday life...

and giving the due recognition to Allah swt through our everyday interactions.

So how do we prepare for this Journey?
it simple...

EVERYDAY.
Yes thats an answer. Everyday to the naked eye may not be a doing word/ action word as to how to prepare. but it is a method to concentise our thoughts... and re- evaluate our mind set in regards tohow we worship Allah swt...

For Allah swt says in surah Al Asr ... "  By Time (Al-`Asr.) (2. Verily, man is in loss.) (3. Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, and recommend one another to the truth, and recommend one another to patience.)"

The aforementioned surah is just an example of how we should be living our life ...
- with belief ( with a well informed belief, educating ourselves) to realise that the rituals of HAJJ are not just rituals but are lessons for how to live.
- doing righteous deeds and abstaining from sins ( do more whilst you can)
- telling othersof this dean ( Dawah)
- being patient when calamity or hardship befalls us ... ( and remembring Allah through good and bad times)

The above is not tafsir ( interpretation) and should not be considred to be so...
this is the realsation i came to during my PILGRIMAGE... and one i wanted to share with you.

And why do people go on HAJJ?

their are different reasons for differant people.

As the Imaam reminded me during Jumuah ... the prophet SAW was reported to have said : "that the reward of an accepted HAJJ is nothing but JANNAH." [ i dont have the reference or the authenticity so please forgive] but WOW ... imagine the gardens and rivers under which rivers flow... and the in habitants of jannah recling with their spouses and eating fruits of all kind and doing blissful things...

ALLAH HU AKBAR!!!

and what if by making an increased effort to conscentise ourselves in the remembrance of Allah swt each and EVERYDAY...
who knows, perhaps one day our children will out of their own volition confidently answer:

" when i grow up i want to a...  hajji"

and not becuase they want the TITLE ... but becuase they want to be the guest of Allah swt in this World and the next, Ameen.

And Allah swt knows Best.

PS: one day GAMATJIE AND ABDULJIE were walking and Gamatjie asks Abdultjie... "why do you always carry your jacket in your brown leather case come rain or shine?"

Abdultjie says to him: " my mummy did tell me that i must take my jacket with  JUST IN CASE!!!! "

lol.. :-)

PS2: All the best to the Hujjaj ... travel safely and TAWAF.TAWAF. and TAWAF.

PSP: if i have said anything incorrect i ask for forgiveness and ask that you make dua for my guidence.

PEAce. Love. and juicy ... tender ... scrumptious spur steak fillet... mm:- p

jumuah mubarak!!!!

Slmz alll.... its been a long while...

i have slacked and not been in touch...

JUMUAH MUBARAK.

BUT... as the FAMOUS Arnold Swarzenigger saying goes..

I'LL BE BACK, INSHALLAH ... god willing ( coz im muslim )

this week
I HAVE NO JOKES.
i have no hadith
and i have nothing else to share....

except to say that Ramadaaan tuaght me two things....
1. life is awesome...
2. but paradise is more awesome.

" Verily we have made that which is on earth as an adornment fo it, in order that We may test them ( mandkind) as to which of them are best in deeds ( i.e. those who do good deeds in the most perfect of manner) that means to do them totally for Allah swt's sake and in accordance to the legal ways of the prophet SAW"
[ quran: 18: verse7] - Pls read the tafsir of this ayah...
awesum perspective on how we should do things... and serves as an encouragment to conitinue on the path which we set for ourselves during ramadaan... And May Allah swt GUIDE us All, ameen.

So if you must ... work hard for this life...
but always strive for the next...

think about it...
                      ponder over it ...
                                              live for it.

Peace:-)

PS; have a graet day.
Ps2: only 51 more weeks left until next ramadaan.... :-)

jumuah mubarak!!!!

aSALAAMU ALIKUM WARAG MATULLAH HI WA BARAKATU!!!!

JuMuah Mubarak!!!

i trust all is well and everything is great!!!

All praise and Glory be to the Almighty for blessing us with another Friday.. another day to live and love for HIS Sake, Ameen.

This has been quite a week... there was monday... and it was followed by tuesday... and then Wednesday ... and so on... lol :-) [ stupid joke]
Alterntaively... time flies... and the World Cup continues to generate an atmosphere of excitement and oppertunity...

When i  mention oppertunity the first thought many may think is to be part of it and say " I Was there" .. or to obtain some financial profit... BUT NO ...
I was speaking to a brother in the week ... and he was telling me that he attended the Spain v Potugal game ( ironic that these two teams were involved as Islam flourished in the Iberian Peninsula for over 700 years)  and to his delight he witnessed hundreds of Fellow Muslims... men and woman ...cramming into small spaces to fulfill thier duties to Allah swt... by reading their Salaah on time and before going to the game ... he saw PAlestinian flags at the Stadium ... JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT  even though we are in the midst of a tidal wave of distraction we can ... still achieve so much in respect to DEAN. There will be those that are for the WC and those that are Agaisnt it... but either or ... oppertunity knocks...
and if you fail to shoot... we aint gonna score... get my drift

Ke Nako!!!

"Ke Nako" means simply "it's time". And, indeed, Africa's time has come to use the 2010 FIFA World Cup to change perceptions of Africa and reposition the continent in a positive light with South Africa as the theatre and Africa the stage. Walking up and down LONG STREET in town... plenty of Foreingers have used this slogan to greet me and the many others. Its being used in by all and sundry... to give a warm and pleasant welcome to visiters and fellow south africans.

This slogan got me thinking... eventually we will all be the subject of the following conversation: " it was his time" ... "sy tyd was in"         "Allah swt planned that this was his time" ... yes we will ...

Then later this week it hit me ... i heard this Ayah/ verse of the Noble Quran being recited and i thought WOW.. what if i can be greeted and welcomed like that... Its a common ayah in a very familiar surah .. which will peg at all our hearts... Some repeat it three times for emphasis... but all i ask is for all to reflect... and ponder.

bismillah hir agmaniragheem...

سَلاَمٌ قَوْلاً مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ

[quraan 36: 58]
" ("Salam (Peace!)'' -- a Word  from the Lord (Allah), Most Merciful.)"
Ibn Jurayj said, "Ibn `Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, concerning this Ayah, Allah Himself, Who is the Peace (As-Salam) will grant peace to the people of Paradise. This from Tafsir ibn Kathir ...

BUT to understand the aforemenitoned verse we need to reverse a few verses and see to whom or about what Allah swt is talking about...

" 54

This Day (Day of Resurrection), none will be wronged in anything, nor will you be requited anything except that which you used to do.

55

Verily, the dwellers of the Paradise, that Day, will be busy in joyful things.

56

They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones..   "

THIER'S NOTHING WRONG WITH .... KE NAKO... IM JUST HIGHLIGHTING SOMETHING I CAME ACCROSS THAT MIGHT BE OF INTEREST TO EVERYONE. ... but you have to admit... WOW... if we can receive such a greeting ... all we have to do ... is to give our best  inthe path of Allah swt ...

i make dua that we all do, Ameen.

AND ALLAH SWT KNOWS BEST.[ i shall seek forgiveness if i have said or doine anything incorrect or wrong ...]

THINK. PONDER. REFLECT.

ps: to understand these verses or any of the verses better refer to an authentic version of the Tafsir of Quraan... eg. ibn Kathir amongst others

jumuah Mubarak!!!

Slmz...

its cold... its snowing... and yet the sun shines as if its summer.
i trust all is well.. and that the WORLD CUP is treating you good...
despite their loss... BAFANA BAFANA is still my team ...
and the sounds of the VUVUzela still echoes thru the land...

JUMUAH MUBARAK TO YOU ALL!!!

I trust that you are well and all is fine... that life goes on and our drive to attain Allah's swt's pleasure is still as strong as ever.

sO A COUPLE OF BRitish TOURIST are driving around the Western Cape Peninsula taking a break bwtween games at the world cup when a old lady in the touring party comes  up to the driver of the bus and gives him sum peanuts. she sits down and after a few more minutes she gets up and gives him more peanuts. the grateful driver says thank you and eats the peanuts. The old lady repeats this generosity a few more times and after the 5th such time the driver turns to the lady and asks: " tell me lady why did you buy the peanuts when all you are doing is giving it away?"
The lady replies: " well young man... i dont have any teeth and can only have the chocolate!"

heheheeh.... lol:-)

FEEL IT! IT IS HERE....

Any ways.. with all this world cup GEES... everybody is so eager for the games.. and preparing for it well in advance ... and trying their best to get site of some of the WORLD CLASS players on view... all in a bid to say... i was there!!! mANY HAVE HOPES OF MEETING THE PLAYERS WHILST OTHERS WILL BE CONTENT ON JUST WATCHING THE FOOTBALL...
i realised that even for the most stuanch of us...  its very easy to get distracted from the our duties we owe to the Creator...
and whilst i was reciting quraan this morning i realised something when i happened accross this verse... which puts everything into perspective...

[Surah Kahf: 110]

" Say (O Muhammad ): "I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God i.e. Allah). So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord."

and then i read a Hadith that goes... whoever loves or longs to meet his Creator then know that Allah swt longs to meet that person. And whoever does not LONG TO meet his CReator then Allah swt does not long to meet that person.

Thus whenever we are presented with an oppertunity to do good i.e. perform salaah ( when the Waqt (time) is in , to do righteous goods, greet each other,  etc. we should FEEL it. and say It is here.
and perhaps if we develop a GEES for doing good... then in this way we can a pave a way towards Allah swt for ourselves.

This is but my mere opinion... and what do i know... for Allah swt knows BEST!

PS: I MAKE DUA ALLAH SWT MAKES US OF THOSE WHO LONG TO MEET HIM.

PS2: ZAKUMI .. THE WORLD CUP MASCOTT ... ZA = SOUTH AFRICA & KUMI= 10 IN MANY AFRICAN LANGUAGES...
PS3: HALAAL TOUR 2010 ... NINO'S OPPOSITE RED CROSS HOspital ... TRY THEIR PIZZA .. CHICKEN TIKKA PIZZA... AWESUM!!!!
PSP: BE STEADFAST IN YOUR SALAAH AND REMEMBER YOUR UMMAH IN YOUR DUAS.

JUMUAH MUBARAK!!1

slMZ... I KNOW I HAVENT SENT AN EMAIL IN A LONG TIME.

but i have not forgotten about you all in my duas...
so i have a re run for you all...

Peace:-)
enjoy!

people. persons... and the rest of you... i trust all is well and the blood flows with renewed vigour to be the best we can be... and make th emost of this Glorius an auspicious day of Jumuah... i cannot stress enuf the magtitude of this day but most of you are out of your teens... except maybe for brother khalid.. so i dont need to harp on about it...

So i went ot nandos in the week... boi was it good... half achicken meal goes down well... jee whizz was it hot... burnt me tongue...  u know how sometimes when you burning u start to tear... and then out of instinct you rub your eyes.. forgetting that your hands are full of peri peri... yip... it happened to me... burn!!!... but in retrospect it could've been worse... and i could've scratched me arse instead....hehehe:-)... lol...hahaha

theNEEDFORSPEED... WHHHHOOOOSH.....

I LISTENING TO A LLEARNED SHEIGH THE  OTHER DAY... and he mentioned that we human beings are a needy bunch... and for some reason... it triggered a thought process... what does he mean? what do we need? it got me thinking....

as human beings we work and toil so that we can provide for ourselves and families... we need food, water, sleep nourishement... a home..etc... what else?....????

Then a few days later i opened a book and read the following:" All human beings share the same basic needs... to feel wanted, appreciated, respected, loved... for without these wants we cannot really be said to be human... & the most obvious thing about these needs is that they all depend absolutely on the relationship of one person with another."

over fourteen centuries ago in the middle of the Arabian Desert... Our Prophet SAW gave us an example thereof... every aspect of life is covered... and his legacy lives on... So today affords us an oppertunity to taylor our efforts in such a way so as to attain a closeness to Our Rabb... and renew our trust in Allah SWt...

For ultimately... in my humble opinion that is...  our Physical needs... our Emotional needs...and our Spiritual needs...  can all be all be replenished in the remembrance of Allah SWt... and lets not forget to be tHankful for whatever lot we have been given.... MAY ALLAH SWT GUIDE and , PROTECT US all...  let us all say Ameen ...

in the end what is the purpose of speed ... when what we really want is the fullfillment of the need... OR IS IT?

think. ponder. reflect

wicky wicky... over and out.

PS: ...peace

PS2: ........love

PS3:...............and a CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA FRM THE RE OPENED ZAIKA'S. in KROmdboom road ...MMMH:-) WITH GARLIC NAAN...AWESOME!!!!

ITS AN OLD JOKE ... BUT IT STILL MAKES ME LAFF.... OUT LOUD..HAHAHA:-)

One day, brother Naidz was  driving his MINI COOPER S down COLLEDGE Road when he saw his bra, JAMES, driving a brand new GTI R. NAIDZ pulled up next to him
with so a moerse smile that all his gold teeth showed.

He asks :"JAMES my broe, where did you chise this vark GTI R, it look jass my broe!
JAMES: "Moena gave it to me"

NAIDZ SKRIKS and says: "She gave it to  you! I knew that kin smaaked you, but a new vark GTI R???"
JAMES: "Jaa my broe, lemme wys you gou the nommer: We were driving on a

JUMUAH MUBARAK!!!

Dear All.

ASSALAAMU ALIKUM WA RAGMATUKKAH HI WA BARAKATU...

JUMUAH MUBARAK TO ONE AND ALL.

and all for one.

and i bear witness that their is only one GOD and that he has no partners
and that Allah swt is most HIGH, Most Beneficent.

I trust all is well?

So for the past few weeks i have been drinking water. In fact i  think i drink a lot of water... at least 2litres a day for the past three weeks.
I hear water is healthy. i hope it is. i have never been a cooldrink lover except at BRAAI's but water is kewl. I love it. add some lemeon and then you have a simple yet tantilising mixture of liquad bliss.

however I ALSO NOTICED that with loads of water comes loads of visits to the TOILET!!!
JEE WHIZZ ... or should i say JEE PISS : -) Shoe... i mean either i have a weak bladder or damn  i really do drink a lot cos every so often i feel the call of nature... NOW those who know me know that i love nature... no doubt i do ...but YOR... even that has a limit... doesnt it?
and sometimes when you least expect it, it creaps up on you... and catches you by suprise... and its worse when you stuck in traffic on the way home...   EINA!!!

TO BE... OR NOT TO PEE ...
So i was caught in a moment of anxiety... i could barely keep my N0.1 in and thus i pulled off and ran into the masjid grounds and rushed to the toilet. and BANG... it hit me... or rather i sat in it... a cold moist liquad... on the rim of the seat... it caught me offguards... and usually i am so careful before i sit... BUT it leaves me with one thought... WHY????

WHy do we as muslims leave the toilet seat wet... after istinja' ring? ( cleansing ourselves)
YES, i know this is an over genralisation which is borne out of one too many unpleasant experiences thus promting you to think that this email is dedicated to me merely expressing my anger... ON THE CONTRARY  ... this is an advice... borne from a thought i had after sitting on a cool moist rim...

It goes as follows:
Once upon a time their was a man... he had a PEE. he ran to the nearest loo and sat in some... water ( ihope it was water and nothing more) ... My lower legs were wet...  what an unfortunate situation.
the end.
MORAL OF THE STORY: LOOK BEFORE YOU SIT.

up til today i dont know what i sat in. It was not a very pleasant experience and not knowing what i sat in adds to the mystery. Some would say i was unfortunate. But like any story their has to be a lesson.
As human beings when something negitive befalls us i.e. car accident, spilt cofee on a brand new shiirt, tramping in doggy POO, Death... we usually curse and ask WHY ME?

SO WHAT WAS MY LESSON? WHAT DID I TAKE OUT OF IT?

Initially, nothing.
but only a few days later i read a hadith... and realised or rather was reminded that as muslims we will alwways be tested... If we say we believe in Allah then know that we will be tested... and trails will be placed in our path not to discourage us. No. but rather to see who is true of FAITH ( IMAAN). Know that we will be tested with poverty and wealth, life and death. We will be TESTED.

THUS THE HADITH i read... encouraged me... and instead of cursing the gentleman who wet the RIM, i satisfied myself that what was meant to be was meant to be. It was ordained that i would sit in that toilet and as i think back... i think i was being tested... my reactions... my thoughts were being tested.

THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH (SWT) was reported to have said: " Safeguard the commandments of Allah, and you will find him b4 you. Remember HIM ( Allah) in prosperity and he will remember you in adversity. KNOW THAT WHATEVER MISSED YOU WAS NEVER MEANT REACH YOU & WHATEVER REACHED YOU WAS NEVER MEANT TO MISS YOU. Remember the HELP of Allah SWT is obtained with patience, & relief comes after distress. & with difficulty comes ease." [ reference - Riyadus Saligheen V1: no62]

And the purpose of every test... is to see what we know and to Test our Knowledge of the subject matter... and if we pass then the afterparty can start.
So in our own way... we must rationalise that ... If Dunya ( this life) is our TEST ... then we should all know that and REMIND oursleves that AHKHIRA ( afterlife) will be our reward... our matric exemption... our deans list ... our cherry on top. [ ps: cherry the fruit.. not the cherrie ... if you know what i mean;-)

think. ponder. reflect

I pray that Allah swt guide and protect us all, ameen.

PS: if i have said anything beneficial and worthwhile then know it comes from Allah swt... and All PRAISes are to HIM, and if i have made a mistake or insulted then i seek forgiveness and it comes from me and my weaknesses and i pray that you pray for my GUIDENCE.

PS2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR ALL THE FEBRUARY BABIES... RIAANA, SHAMIEL, IRFAAN, AQ, HANIEF, NAZRAANA  and any one else i cant remember... have a great day.
ps3: mubarak to brother HASHIM AMLA... WE PROUD OF YOU!!! MAY ALLAH SWT GUIDE AND PROTECT YOU ALWAYS.

jumuah Mubarak!!!

Asalaamu Alikum Wa rag Matullah hi Wabarakatu
i trust all is well...

it been a long while since i last emailed ...

i have been slacking and it hurts... i havent said  hello or slmz to any one via email for a long while ... but today its different... i wake with a spring in my step.
Its Jumuah ... Allah hu akbar.
i realised over the past few weeks that at times Keeping in touch with people takes a lot of effort... especially with persons you dont see every day/ week...
LIFE GOES ON... and before we know it... we are in high school ... and then life moves ahead... and its Matric exams. ... and on ... we graduating... buying our first car... starting to work... starting a familiy and... somehow in our hectic schedules we must find time to interact with our family, friends, spouse(s),
At times if we are not careful... and if we dont make a concerted effort to interact with OUR CREATOR...  it has the result of us moving that priority to the "BACK seat" ... albeit unintentionally.
And that is exactly why i LLOVE JUMUAH...coz every body leaves whateva and in droves we head top the nearest MASJID.

IT begs a question? what do we spend most of our time doing? really think about it?
where do we spend our QUALITY TIME. What do we spend our quality time doing?

TWO SUGARS, PLEASE!!!.
The last few weeks of any year ( Gregorian calender that is) brings with it many things ... amongst them being ... the rushing to finalise all lose ends at work,  the festive holiday atmosphere, braai's ... lots of braai's ... 4 in one week for me ... and the summer solstace ( 21 December) ... i.e the longest day of the year or the shortest night...

This December also saw me oversleeping for Fajr on many occasions...perhaps its the fact that the evenings are short// less time to sleep???
i am sure it happens to us all ...jee whizz ... when shaytaan messages the neck.. we tend to fall pray to the  " just another 5 minutes syndrome" and we press SNOOZE...

SO AFTER  A WEEK OF OVERSLEEPING ... i was determined to once again get up for the FAjr ( pre sunrise) salaah... and perform it on time and at the masjid... i was so determined that i was up a whole 45 minutes before the athaan and i put my alarm clock on me wifes dressing table so as to force me out of bed... desperate times require creative thinking
so i set out towards the masjid...

i pulled in to the parking area... and in wonderous amazement i gazed at the tall green minarets lighting up the early morning sky... and the clean crisp morning air slapped wotever tiredness i had out of me... i breathed in and out ... Allah hu Akbar . Allah hu akbar. Allahaaa hu Akbar Allahh hu akbar . i continued to walk ... and listened to the Muatheen ( a person who makes athaan... call to prayer)  ... but when he came to Asalaah tu ghairumin an Noem " Salaah is better than sleep

I froze.
i pondered.
i reflected.
and then i gave thanks to the Almighty.

So why is salaah better than sleep?

What are the benefits of salaah on time? and in the masjid? and in Jamaah?
- their are many ahadith explaining them
- their are ayaaats in the Quraan telling us about the benfits of salaah

But the best way to find out about the benefits salaah has on ones soul and spiritual self is by actually performing salaah... so no hadith from me today ... no Quraan Ayats...
BUT rather i propose the following...

EXPERIMENT #1:
if you have missed making salaah on time for a particular reason. Dont dispair. Allah swt is Most High and is Oft forgiving and Most Merciful. All you have to do is make intetnion for the next salaah and actually do it.
Try this. the next salaah make it on time. wherever you are. make a space and pray. No excuses!

EXPERIMENT #2:
TRY TO PERFORM YOUR FIVE SALAAHS IN JAMAAH. for this experiement YOU require a friend... or wife ... or a masjid

EXPERIMENT #3:
TRY TO PERFORM ALL YOUR SALAAH IN THE MASJID.

EXPERIMENT #4:
TRY AND GET UP FOR FAJR AT LEAST ONCE IN THE NEXT WEEK ... for this you need... to sleep early... a good alarm clock and a greater awareness of your CREATOR when jumping into bed... so before you sleep raise your hands and ask Allah swt to send angels to wake you from your slumber... SERIOUSLY TRY IT!!!

EXPERIMENT #5:
REPEAT STEP 4 ABOVE but add the following... try and go to the nearest masjid as well.
Seriously ... if you looking for a RED BULL type BOOST... but only one that is ten times better i would suggest you experiment.

If you can... do all the aforemetioned experiments...
if not try it one by one...  A GRADAL IMPLEMENTATION ... that will lead you to world of contentment....
and if it makes a difference then
I WOULD APPRECIATE it if you would tell me, via email, if their is actually difference between salaah on time VS salaah at anytime.

Salaah is beneficial. We all know this.
Salaah out of its time although being a salaah ... can be so much more sweeter if done on time.
its like having a cup of tea without Sugar.  {FOr the diabetics out there its like having a rice cake versus having a rice cake with that diabetic choclate over it... lol:-}
Its up to the individual to add the additional flavour.

THE POINT BEING we have to PRIORITISE ALLAH. By trying to make salaah at its stated times not only are we obeying a command from ALLAH swt ... but we are PRIORITISING ALLAH and elavating Him to the PLACE he should HOLD in our day to day lives... and by simply doing that we will REAP THE DUE REWARD.. for Allah Is MOSt MERCIFUL, FULL Of BOUNTY

its a choice... each indivdual has to make. But dont be fooled... just coz you read salaahtul fajr at the masjid aint gonna make you pious... just coz you wear a scarf over your head dont make you better than anyone else... WHAT IS IMPORTANT THOUGH IS if you do anything... any form of IBAADA ... it has to be done with the sole intention of PLEASING Allah swt ... the aforemetnioned acts may assist you on the path to righteousness but it aint gonna make you saaligh (PIOUS) ... for that we need a clean heart and a soul in the constant rememernbrance of ALLAH SWT ( GOD ALMIGHTY)

I dont know about you guys... but i prefer to take my TEA with sugar.

AND ALLAH SWT KNOWS BEST.

Think. Ponder. Reflect.

FOR the DAYS AHEAD... I PRAY/ MAKE DUA.... THAT ALLAH SWT CLEANSE OUR HEARTS AND SOULS AND TURN IT TOWARD HIM AND MAY HE PROTECT AND SHOWER HIS MERCY UPON US... AND MAY HE GIVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US THE ABILITY TO DO THE THINGS THAT WILL MAKE US ATTAIN HIS PLEASURE... AND INCREASE US IN RIGHTEOUS GOOD DEEDS FOR HIS PLEASURE...AMEEN

DISCLAIMER: IF I HAVE SAID ANYTHING THAT IS OF BENEFIT THEN SURELY IT COMES FORM ALLAH SWT, AND IF I HAVE OFFENDED OR MADE AN ERROR THEN I ASK FORGIVENESS AND IT COMES FROM MY SELF AND SHAYTAAN... AND I PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS.

PS: I LOVE YOU ALL FOR THE SAKE OF LOVING ALLAH!!!
PS2: ALL THE BEST FOR THE  NEW YEAR!!!
