EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING

ﺍﻠﺴﻼ ﻢ ﻋﻠﻴﻛﻢ ﻮ ﺮﺣﻤﺔ ﺍﷲ ﻮ ﺒﺮ ﻛﺎ ﺘﻪ

PEace:-)
&Blessings:-)
uponU
all...
and may Allah SWt protect our hearts from Hipocrisy and our actions from show... Ameen.

So its been a
tumultuos week ( BIG WOrd for the week... i dont really no what it means...hehehe and im sure i've spelt it incorrectly:-) ) ... what with a change in President the politics of our country is well very political... and with the rain continuing to fall ... its wet..very wet... and im told that our roads are in its chops becuase of the rain... try finding one smooth road... aint gonna happen... theirs potholes everywhere... and then i was comforted by the following verses inthe Quraan: Surat A'Rad...

" 12.
It is He Who shows you the lightning, as a fear and as a hope. And it is He Who brings up the clouds, heavy (with water).) (13. And Ar-Ra'd (thunder) glorifies and praises Him, and so do the angels because of His awe. He sends the thunderbolts, and therewith He strikes whom He wills, yet they (disbelievers) dispute about Allah. And He is Mighty in strength and Severe in punishment."

and then all seemed to make sense... yes we are all expecting spring/ summer ... but ALlAH alone is in control of it all and we should see the clouds and rain as signs of ALLah SWt's GLory.. and increase in our belief...

Neverthe less at least this week will end on a high... for its layla tul QADR... the night of power... better than a 1000months... ALLAH hu Akbar!!

So go forth and seek the bounties of your LOrd...

every
CLOUDhasaSILVERlining...

THE thing about laylatul QADR
...
is ... as great as it is... it also brings with it the realisation that ramadaan is nearing to an end... and that saddens me to a certain extent... for i know that things will change... things always change... it is in our nature as human beings too change... hearts change... minds change... people change... the very arabic word for heart is Qalb... which im am lead to understand means a thing that changes... ( a poor attempt of mine to explain arabic... but please bear with me)... so i guess its our responsibility to manage this change.. and change for the better... and May Allah Guide us all...

but to tell you the truth i am not all that sad this year... i was listening to a learned sheigh the other day and he mentioned that "
RAMAdaan is a month of EMpowerment"... " we have had the opperntunity to empower ourselves" ... our bodies... minds... and souls... have been refreshed... By Allah SWT's grace and majesty ... for 29/30 days we have taken control of our naffs...
and proved to ourselves that we can do just about anything... if we have the correct intentions... and if we place our trsust in our RABB.

and then
like a lightning bolt out of no where this hadiths appeared before me and Lends to the fact that ALLAH SWT's is the most merciful of those who show mercy and wants to benefit us in every manner and means...

Narrated from
Abu Ayyoob al-Ansaari: "Whoever fasts Ramadaan then
follows it with six days of Shawwaal,
it will be like fasting for
a lifetime.
" Saheeh Muslim (1164) The
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"Whoever fasts Ramadaan, a month is like ten months, and
fasting six days after al-Fitr will complete the year
."
Ahmad (21906)...

Now all your accountants out there do the numbers... and you will see that in effect... what we are told is that if we want to get the reward of fasting the whole year... all we have to do is fast 6 more days... i was never good at maths.. but i think i am correct... lets double check this eqaution:
29/30days + 6days = 3651/4days... am i correct?
ALLah hu Alim...

A silver lining if ever there was one ...

And MAy ALLAH swT gUIDE US ALL... AND GIVE US OF his Mercy ... AND FORGIVE US OF OUR SINS...

think. ponder. reflect.

JUMUAH MUBARAK

ﺍﻠﺴﻼ ﻢ ﻋﻠﻴﻛﻢ ﻮ ﺮﺣﻤﺔ ﺍﷲ ﻮ ﺒﺮ ﻛﺎ ﺘﻪ

PEace and Blessings upon u all...

i trust all is well on this beutiful... winters ...oops... i mean sprin morning... yes u could've fooled me... ouch my fingers are in his chops cold!!!!

but ALhumdulillah... we are gathered here ... whereever here is and we are given another oppertunity to enjoy a Jumuah... rain or shine... ALLAh Hu akbar...

JUMUAH MUBARAK

The great thing about Jumuah is that... life stops... and yet it goes on... confused?
... well for us muslims... we stop every thing... and proceed in our millions... to the masjids... HAVE U EVER THOUGHT about that about? do u know why we leave off every thing and go tothe masjid? well surely many of would say... " to go make salaah" and they would be correct. And some would say " to praise and worship Allah"...and they too would be correct... [ pause... hold this thought ]

[ light bulb moment] and if u think about it somewhere ... someone throughout this big big world ... this every minute could well be getting ready... or has made... or is busy with Jumuah Salaah... Aint that just great... no i lie... Allah is great... that is just beuatiful...

But we all know that the buck doesnt just stop with us human beings... or even limited to this world... no for as the ayaat of Quraan goes: bismillihiragmaan niragheem ... " 1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah -- the King, the Holy, the Almighty, the All-Wise" (surah al Jumuah verse 1)... how awesome is that???

the Quraan is so beautiful in its discriptions and ability to inspire that when one reads through it... and i know that the translations as good as they are can never do justice to the original arabic text... but when you read through it... and you know what is being ssaid... and if we are truly sincere... it can elevate our spiritually to another level... to one that gives clarity and purpose.. and guidance... and understanding ... and that which brings peace to the soul...

and when we are equipped with an inkling of understanding... then we will more readily avail ourselves... to the call... or at least thats what i think... [ lightbulb] a freind of mine reminded me this week... ' knowledge is like an ocean... from the shore its looks big... but only when you row out into the middle and cannot see the shore any more... then ... and then alone will u truly know how big the ocean is" ... profound indeed...

So why do we stop everthing on a friday afternoon at ~ 12 pm??? Many people have asked me why i get so excited about Jumuah... is it becuase u get to leave work? is it becuase u get alonger lunchtime? WHY??? Well a month or so ago... i confirmed to myself why i love jumuah so much...
Well .. i am not going to tell... no... rather... sit back... relax... and take it in...

ﺑﺴﻢ ﺍﷲ ﺍﻠﺮﺣﻤﻦ ﺍﻠﺮﺣﻴﻢ

"... 9. O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed for the Salah on Al-Jumu`ah (Friday), then hasten (Fas`aw) to the remembrance of Allah and leave off business. That is better for you if you did but know!) (10. Then when the Salah is complete, you may disperse through the land, and seek the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.)... " [ Quraan 62: 9- 10]

Selected Commentry:
1. The meaning of Sa`y (hasten) here does not refer to walking quickly. It only refers to the importance of it.
2. (That is better for you if you did but know!) means, `your abandoning buying and selling, and instead, corcentrating your attention to Allah's remembrance and the prayer are better for you in this life and the Hereafter, if you but knew.
3. (...you may disperse through the land, and seek the bounty of Allah...and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.) means, while you are buying and selling, giving and taking, remember Allah much and do not let this life busy you from what benefits you in the Hereafter

So their we have it... now u know
think . ponder. Jumuah Mubarak!!!

have an awesome day...
be steadfast in your salaah... and rememebr the ummah inur duas...
PS: outdated...
PS2: sold it...
Ps3: still packed away...
PSP: JOIN US FOR HALAQA TOMMORROW morning after FAJr.. at habibia Masjid... Inshallah... we will be reading from the tafsir of Suruh Munafiqun... inshallah.
Xbox: Did u know?? In a year, an average person uses the toilet 2500 times a year... and that Three years of a person's life is spent on the toilet...
Wii: In 1991, the Iceman, a Stone Age wanderer and the most ancient human being ever found, was discovered in the Similaun glacier in the Alps on the Italian-Austrian border. His frozen body was found along with the contents of his gut which showed the man took his last meal not long before setting out on a hike from which he was never to return. The meal was a simple affair, consisting of a bit of unleavened bread made of einkorn wheat, one of the few domesticated grains used in the Iceman's part of the world at this time, some other plant, possibly an herb or other green, and meat.

JUST DO IT...

Peace & Blessings upon you all on this beuutiful day of JUMauah!!!
YEs i know i said i wasnt going to send any emails during ramadhaan... but something really beautiful hapened this week and i thought i must share... ok its not the something that was beutiful but rather it was the way it happenend and the after effects of it happening that left a an impression on me... so here goes...

and May Allah SWT protect and guide us.. and keep us sincere and protect us from show, Inshallah...

JUSTdoIT...

Last week we a few brave brothers & sisters gathered to pack ramadaan parcels... Alhumdulillah... the turn out was great... Jazakallah ghair to all who came... what would of taken almost whole day to DO took us 2hrs to pack +- 800 food parcels... ALlah hu akbar... definitely some sort of record...

a breakdown in communication resulted in the transport to deliver the parcels arriving after thur... and so naturally and through fault of thier own... people started to leave... and we were left with +- 600 parcels... and 10- 14 people to load it... we out numbered 50 parcels (weighing +- 20kg) to one man... illequiped.... tired... thirsty ...and a duanting task was made even the more dauntiyinger (if their is such a word?) by the fact that not only had we to load but we had to jump inthe vans... drive to the some 20km and unload all again ... i dont think we even realised it... but we were committed... and made our intention... we were going tosee this out...

B4 i go on with my story... lets turn back the clock... [rewind] some 1400 years and a bit ago... some great muslim warriors also gathered... in a area known as BADR...YOU KNOW THIS STORY???... WELL IF not... they were also outnumbered... illequiped... but their they stood... in the heat of the Arabian desert. armed with their dua... and firmly placing the TRust in the ALmighty... they invoked the praises of their LORd... and ALlhu akbar!!! ... a great victory was had... [fast forward...]

back to the future... 06: 09:08... and in amongst these brave warriors were two young men... the youngest of them all... i observed them... they were their to do a job... and with a steely determination in their eyes... they stood firm ... not giving an inch... giving their all... the way they went about the bussiness was awe inspiring and they... without even knowing it renewed my spirits... in fact all those who helped contributed to lifting me up.. and reminded me why we were their.... seeking to take advantage of this GREAT month... Seeking Allah swt's MErcy and in the process They tuaght me a lesson ... something i will remember for a long time...

But its an amazing coincidence that in this week during taraweeg we read surah An alfal... and tafsir ibn kathir mentions... " Allah states that He creates the actions that the servants perform and that whatever good actions they take, it is He Who should be praised for them, for He directed and helped them perform these actions" --- and that is excatly the point...EVEry victory comes from ALLah swt... Allah's signs and mercies are their ... we just have to open our eyes and do our bit...

And then later that day as i stood in Taraweeg prayers... the hufath read the following ayaah..."
" But those who believed, and worked righteousness -- We burden not any person beyond his scope -- such are the dwellers of Paradise. They will abide therein. "(Quraan 7:42 )... earlier inthe day whilst we toiled... someone mentioned this ayah to me... coincidence????
BEuatiful ... absolutely marveloous...

And as i reminisce about our adventures of last w/e.. and remember those two young brothers in particular... who toiled " with fortitude and optimism " and perhaps they saw " in every difficulty an oppertunity to turn to Allah SWt in rememberence and prayer."

and to quote the closing passages of a book i read..." for Allah SWt is all powerful. HE gives everything. and everything that is happening inlife is happening because of Him and comes from HIM, for no power is there save with ALlah, the MOst High, the great.

Please do not misconstrue what i have said as equating our packing as anything on the same level as what happenied at BADR... NO!!!
ALLah protect and forgive me if i have left that impression... all i am saying is ... that in all aspects of our life the lessons learnt from the Battle of BAdr and the wisdom from the Quran should play a role in shaping our lives...

this weeks LESSON: lets keep Steadfast and perservere sincerely in the path of ALLah swt... and seemingly insummountable odds will be oovercome... all we have to do is BELIEVE IT TO BE SO... and (just) DO IT!!!

think. ponder. do.

PS:Today is Friday, Sept. 12, the 256th day of 2008. There are 110 days left in the gregorian year.
PS2: still packed away...

Peace. Love. ...

Layer jokes... The priest was instructing a class of third-graders at All Saints grammar school.

"There were two brothers, and one of them chose the wicked path of Satan. The brother was evil and corrupt and did great damage to many people, and wound up a convicted criminal in a tiny, dark cell.
"But the other brother studied hard and became a great, rich, knowledgeable lawyer.
"Now, children, what is the difference between these two brothers, who started out in the same place, who together embarked upon life's stormy seas?"
Herman raised his hand and said, "Easy. One of them got caught."

Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 32:
Volume 3, Book 32, Number 226:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying regarding Ramadan
, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

MAy Allah swt.. guide and protect us all, inshallah...
